Prof. Dr. Anne Kasper assumed the professorship in Midwifery Science at the MHH’s Research and Teaching Unit Midwifery Science on October 1. She is particularly dedicated to addressing the question of what conditions are necessary to ensure that families receive good care before, during, and after childbirth. In doing so, she focuses on families in difficult life situations as well as those with international backgrounds—for example, due to having fled their home countries. Her goal is to ensure that midwifery care actually reaches people in complex life situations.
Anne Kasper completed her training as a midwife at Braunschweig Hospital. She then worked first in Tanzania and later at the Perinatal Centre of the Henriettenstift in Hanover. She studied midwifery at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, followed by public health at MHH, and earned her Ph.D. from Bielefeld University. In 2022, she was appointed professor of Midwifery Science at the Göttingen campus of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HAWK).
