For a healthy control group, subjects without gaming disorder are sought.
“I Bet You Won’t Gamble Anymore” is the title of a study by the Clinical Department of Psychiatry, Social- and Psychological Therapy at Hannover Medical School (MHH). In it, the researchers are investigating a new outpatient therapy for gambling addiction. The project began last year and is now set to continue with a healthy control group. The team is still seeking participants for this.
They are primarily looking for men between the ages of 28 and 40 who do not have a gambling disorder—that is, who are not addicted and do not exhibit high-risk gambling behavior. Smokers are preferred, but non-smokers may also participate. For the study, participants must visit the MHH twice: once for a psychological interview and to complete a questionnaire, and a second time to provide blood and saliva samples. Afterward, participants will receive an expense allowance of 50 euros.
