The Director of the Clinical Department of Psychiatry, Social- and Psychological Therapy died unexpectedly at the age of 57.
Hannover Medical School (MHH) mourns the loss of Prof. Dr. Stefan Bleich, Director of the Clinical Department of Psychiatry, Social- Psychiatry and Psychological Therapy . He died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 57 while on vacation.
"The death of Professor Bleich fills us with great dismay and sadness. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and his colleagues in the Clinical Department," said Prof. Dr. Dr. Denise Hilfiker-Kleiner, President of MHH. "The MHH has lost an outstanding physician, scientist and esteemed colleague."
Professor Bleich had headed the Clinical Department of Psychiatry, Social- and Psychological Therapy since 2008. His scientific interests included substance addictions such as alcohol dependence, psychopharmacology and epigenetic regulation of psychiatric diseases.
