Data flow & protection
Data flow
The so-called routine data, which is documented by the physician in the electronic patient card, is pseudonymized several times in accordance with data protection requirements before it is allowed to leave the practice.
As a result, physicians and researchers work with data in the register that cannot be linked to a natural person. A schematic representation of the data flow from the documentation in the practice via the registry database to the researcher can be found here.
The data protection concept of the BeoNet registry has been reviewed several times and has been positively assessed by the Lower Saxony State Commissioner for Data Protection, the Data Protection Officer of the Medical School and the Ethics Committee of the Medical School.
Data protection concept
The legal requirements for the protection of personal data must be met. The data protection concept of the BeoNet register has been approved by the data protection officer of the state of Lower Saxony. The registry thus complies with the provisions of the Lower Saxony Data Protection Act (NDSG) as amended on January 13, 2011 (last amended on December 12, 2012). The complete data protection concept of the register can be found here.
