Student elective course "Difficult Decisions" once again a complete success

Traditionally, "HAINS Week" took place at the end of September. Under the motto "Difficult Decisions", Dr. Vanessa Rigterink and Dr. Christoph Noll from the Clinical Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine welcomed 14 highly motivated 5th year students to their "best week of study" (quote from the participants). During the varied week, the participants had to present papers on given topics, were allowed to observe an anaesthetic induction in the operating room and were able to apply the skills they had learned in various simulation scenarios. The week was rounded off with visits to the MHH's pastoral care department and the anatomy department, where the participants were able to practice placing chest drains and performing coniotomies on body donors. Another special topic was airway management, which was practiced on Tuesday using airway phantoms with a normal airway. The highlight was the Friday exercise on phantoms with various airway pathologies. The elective course was once again a complete success and was very well evaluated by the participants. We are already looking forward to next year's elective week (already fully booked). Many thanks to all the hard-working helpers who made this week such a great success!
