Emergency Social Fund for students
of the Hannover Medical School
If, through no fault of your own, you find yourself in an emergency situation that you cannot cope with on your own and therefore need financial support, you can apply for financial support from the Emergency Social Fund for MHH students. This financial support amounts to a maximum of €1000 per year.
Notes on how to apply
Eligible to apply are
- Medical students generally from the 3rd year of study who have the M1 equivalence. Students in years 3-5 should be able to present approx. 2/3 of the certificates.
- Dentistry students usually after the Physikum, approx. 2/3 of the certificates should be available.
- Master's students with proof of achievement after the 1st semester.
Information on the required certificates
Proof of acute need
The application form must be completed, the financial emergency must be justified and documented, e.g. by bank statements (income versus expenditure) and/or a sworn statement.
Please note
Please also make sure that the format of the evidence is clear, for example, do not use screenshots of the smartphone screen, but account statements in PDF format from online banking.
Attachments
- Bank statements for the last 3 months(no screenshots of the smartphone display!)
- Tenancy agreement: The first pages with the contractual partners and the rental costs up to the first signatures by the tenant and landlord(no attachments such as handover protocols or information sheets!)
- Salary statements for the last 3 months
- Registration or household certificate (if children are stated in the household)
- Credit documents (if loan payments have been indicated)
Completion instructions
- Please only use the student e-mail address when completing the application form.
- Please note: it is not possible to save the form temporarily.
- Use the Chrome, Edge or Firefox browsers to complete the form. The use of Safari leads to difficulties when filling out the form!
- PDF documents created on a Mac can cause problems when uploading, as they are sometimes not recognized as PDF.
Processing the application
The application will be decided promptly by a commission. You will then receive re-registration from us via your student e-mail account.

I have taken note of the following information obligations, which fully inform me about the use of the data provided via the contact form: My personal data will be stored and processed on the server of the MHH data center in accordance with data protection regulations, in particular the GDPR. Access to the data is granted to the head of the Student Office and, if necessary, to employees of the Student Office who have been commissioned to process the data.
Purpose of data collection
The purpose of processing the personal data I provide is to contact me and to clarify my concerns. If I send files (images and documents) via this form, I give my consent for this data to be processed. This also applies to special categories of personal data transmitted by me, such as health data. These are processed by MHH in accordance with Art. 9 para. 2 lit. b) GDPR exclusively for the processing of the respective application.
Disclosure of data
My personal data will only be disclosed in anonymized form.
Storage
My data will be stored by the MHH Student Office for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected. As a rule, this means that my personal data will be deleted or anonymized after the end of the calendar year in which it was collected. Existing retention obligations and periods will be observed.
Revocation
In the event of revocation, my data that I have provided via the contact form will be deleted.

In the data protection declaration linked under the form, I have taken note of the rights regarding the personal data concerning me in accordance with the GDPR.
