Goal achieved: We get a simulation MRI!
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays an important role in diagnostics at the MHH Children's Hospital. The advantage of this imaging procedure is that it does not involve harmful X-rays. However, smaller children in particular often have to be sedated because the bright light and loud noises frighten them. For this reason, pediatric radiology would like to have a simulated MRI that can be used to practice the unfamiliar situation beforehand. In most cases, sedation is then not necessary. To make this wish come true, the team at the children's hospital's play oasis organized a large jersey auction in July 2024.
With the proceeds from the auction and numerous large and small donations, the target of 30,000 euros was reached and even exceeded! Now the Spieloase team no longer has to worry about freight costs and a sink extension, which is needed to create the necessary space for the simulation MRI, is also covered. Many thanks to all the supporters who made this project possible!
The remaining jerseys are still available for the good cause. If you are interested, please contact the Spieloase by e-mail at spieloase@mh-hannover.de or by telephone on 0511 532-9028. All proceeds will go to the Spieloase, as the busy team is already working on the next donation projects to create even more variety for children and young people in everyday hospital life.
