"Mechanics, electronics, microprocessor technology, technical glassblowing"
These four work areas were organizationally merged into the "Equipment Construction" work area with the restructuring of December 2004.
The Central Research Workshops support the Institutes and Facilities or Institutions of the MHH with teaching and research tasks. Private orders cannot be processed.
§1
The Departments ( ... ) are central service facilities of the Medical School. Their services include the development and construction of scientific equipment and its maintenance for the areas of research and teaching (including further education and training) as well as the associated technical advice for clients. The Head of the Central Research Workshops has technical responsibility for the clients.
The area of responsibility does not include the construction of equipment that can be purchased commercially. Repairs to commercially available devices should only be carried out in exceptional cases ( ... ).
§2
The orders carried out by the Central Research Workshops as part of the services are invoiced to the clients. The amount of the payments (prices) to be made for the individual orders is based on the material costs and the scope of work. The guidelines for calculating the prices are reviewed by the Advisory Board and submitted to the Senate for approval. ( ... )
§3
The order in which development orders are processed is generally based on the date of receipt of the written order. Small orders and minor repairs (working time max. a few hours) are completed immediately in parallel with the development work. Orders with fixed deadlines are processed by individual agreement.
The following points must generally be observed for order processing:
Orders are placed in writing ( ... ) The client confirms acceptance of the costs with his signature (indication of the cost center for the purpose of debiting). The client must be authorized to sign for the account. The costs are based on the price lists adopted by the Senate. In disputed cases (non-compliance with agreed deadlines, cost overruns, excessively large orders, processing of rush orders, special orders, etc.), the head of the Central Research Workshops must be consulted. If no agreement can be reached, the case must be submitted to the Advisory Board for a decision.
§4
Patent law issues in connection with work results of the Central Research Workshops should be clarified in consultation with the MHH legal department.
The following additional individual regulations apply to the Departments of Mechanics, Electronics, Microprocessor Technology and Technical Glassblowing:
Until further notice, the following opening hours apply: Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Friday until 2:30 pm When placing an order, the research workshops must be informed by the client of the order contents or required device characteristics by means of suitable clear documentation (e.g. keyword protocol of the consultation meeting). When accepting orders, the research workshops must take appropriate account of economic aspects.
If orders have to be passed on to external companies for processing by the research workshops for scheduling or economic reasons, the external order will only be placed after approval by the client. The client shall bear the costs of external production; coordination shall be carried out by the research workshops.
Binding deadline commitments are made exclusively by the heads of the respective Departments. The planned completion date is recorded on the order form Access to the workshop and laboratory rooms by persons who are not employed in the Central Research Workshops is governed by the statutory accident prevention regulations.
The use of machines and equipment by members of the university who do not belong to the Central Research Workshops is not permitted due to the statutory accident prevention regulations. In exceptional cases, the head of the research workshops may grant special written permission.
Equipment that has already been used and is to be repaired or modified must be delivered perfectly cleaned or (if necessary) sterilized. (The glassblowing workshop always has all equipment supplied disinfected before it is repaired).
