PSD Bank Hannover is at it again!
The employees of the cooperative direct bank have not only proven their fitness in the last two rounds of "150 Minutes". Since 2023, the bank has even been organizing its own sporting fundraising campaign, the "PSD HerzFahrt", in aid of children's cardiology at the MHH, which starts this year on 7 July. So it's almost a matter of honor that the bank with the green logo is once again taking part in this year's Active Week in April.
The NBank is at it again!
As the state's development bank, NBank is committed to growth, progress and good living conditions in Lower Saxony in the long term and also flies the flag with its social commitment. We are delighted that NBank is now supporting the "150 Minutes - Active for Nursing" campaign for the third time in a row.
Tina Voß GmbH is at it again!
Anyone who follows @tina_voss_gmbh on Instagram already knows that the employees of the personnel service provider are always on the move: Whether it's hiking, stand-up paddling, Pilates or tennis, their preferences are as diverse as the team. Even for a walk in the woods in between, they are always equipped with sturdy changeable shoes - the best conditions for our activity week in support of Nursing at the MHH. "A joint activity like this is good for the team and is simply a lot of fun," says Managing Director Julia Wohlfeld. "And when there's also a good cause, not taking part is not an option for us." Of course we think so too!
Rossmann GmbH supports with a donation
For the third time, Rossmann GmbH is supporting our "150 Minutes - Active for Nursing" campaign with a generous donation of 5,000 euros, proving its commitment: The Burgwedel-based drugstore chain places great importance on sustainability, not only with regard to energy consumption and climate protection, but also in terms of social commitment. We are very happy about this great amount - thank you very much!
Heinz von Heiden GmbH is at it again!
The solid construction house provider from Isernhagen has also been a supporter from the very beginning. "We don't just see our relationship with our customers as a long-term partnership," says Managing Director Dr. Helge Mensching. "We do the same in the social sphere: when we get involved, we like to do so in a targeted manner and with a perspective." In addition to social commitment, employee motivation is a top priority at Heinz von Heiden. And over the last two years of the "150 minutes - active for Nursing" campaign, we were able to see for ourselves that this is not just an empty phrase. Hardly any other company has cycled, hiked and walked as much as Heinz von Heiden. We are therefore looking forward to a varied next round with the HvH team!
VHV is at it again!
VHV is also one of the faithful souls of our fundraising campaign. The Hanover-based insurance company is participating for the third time in a row and is supporting the commitment to Nursing at the MHH through the VHV Foundation, which was established in 2014. "The foundation is committed to meeting special social challenges with social engagement," says Andreas Winter, Health Manager at VHV. "And we all know that the current situation in Nursing is just such a special challenge. We are therefore pleased to be able to support the MHH in this area."
Hans G. Bock is at it again!
"After the rather cozy winter months, it will be good for us and our employees that the campaign week is taking place in spring this time," says Valentin Schmidt, Managing Partner at Hans G. Bock. The Lister interior design company is taking part for the third time and is doing so out of conviction. "The shortage of skilled workers in Nursing concerns us all," says Schmidt. "We are therefore delighted to be able to make a small contribution to improving nursing training by taking part in '150 minutes'."
How to compare individual activities
Exercise is ultimately a question of type, because here too, tastes differ. Some people want to burn off energy and enjoy the pleasant exhaustion after sport. Others are more interested in gardening and yoga. The best thing is that both ways lead to the same goal, as the so-called metabolic equivalent (MET) can be used to compare different physical activities. Moderate exercise corresponds to a value between 3 and 6 MET. You can look up the values for many types of sport and also some everyday activities in our MET table. And if your sport is not included: no problem! Just send us an e-mail and we will find the appropriate MET value for you.
WHO recommends 150 minutes of exercise per week
Studies show: Around a quarter of adults worldwide do not get enough exercise. In Germany, the figure is even around half. In 2018, the World Health Organization (WHO) therefore formulated the minimum amount of time we should spend being active each week in order to lay the foundations for a healthy life: 150 minutes. Prof. Dr. med. Uwe Tegtbur, Head of the Clinical Department for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine at the MHH, explains how important exercise is for the body and also the soul: "Regular sport and also smaller exercise units that we incorporate into our everyday lives are simply good for us humans. Exercise prevents heart disease, cancer and diabetes. But it is just as important for our mental health and can alleviate depression and anxiety disorders, for example, or help prevent them from developing in the first place." Incidentally, the recommendation of 150 minutes applies not only to healthy adults, but also to people with chronic illnesses or other limitations. "Of course, you have to adjust the intensity individually, but moderate physical exercise always has a positive effect on quality of life and the course of the illness. We see that here at the MHH every day," adds Tegtbur. In short: every minute towards 150 is progress!
