What is ALLEGRO?

In the ALLEGRO program, the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony supports talented scientists from all disciplines (dental) medicine, natural sciences, engineering and communication sciences who establish their own group in the new cluster initiative in one of the MHH's key research areas "Organ Transplantation & Regeneration" or "Implant Science and Biomedical Technology".

 

Tasks and qualification of the talents

  • Establishment and management of a first own working group in the above-mentioned focus areas
  • Assumption of budget and personnel responsibility
  • Acquisition of peer-reviewed project funding
  • Participation in the development of talents

The key points of ALLEGRO

We offer you a starter package for establishing your own group as well as excellent structures for promoting your career development in excellent research networks and for integration into the respective cluster initiatives.

  • Doctors: Protected research time and clinical training
  • Structured scientific (and clinical) training with a customized career plan
  • Personal support from an individually selected mentoring team from the initiative's management committee
  • Long-term perspective with development opportunities (initially limited to 5 years, interim evaluation after 3 years)
  • Financial support to establish your own group
  • Offers for professional qualification and the acquisition of key skills
  • Regular advisory services, evaluations and feedback meetings

 

Participation requirements

  • Completed doctorate with above-average achievements
  • Convincing CV with presentation of previous scientific focus and supra-regional visibility
  • Presentation of the integration potential through a convincing concept outline for the cluster initiative
  • Very high interest in translational research
  • (Inter-)national or interdisciplinary networking
  • Commitment and experience in teaching, scientific or patient communication
