Dr. Stegemann is a specialist in general medicine. After graduating from high school and completing his civilian service in the emergency services, he studied physics as an undergraduate at the University of Hamburg. He then went on to study medicine at Hannover Medical School, where he also completed his doctorate in hematology and oncology. After his 3rd state examination, he worked as an assistant and specialist in basic and standard care hospitals in the fields of internal medicine, oncology, neurology and in oncological and orthopaedic rehabilitation Clinical Departments.

Dr. Stegemann has been a family physician in private practice in Wunstorf/Luthe (Hanover region) in a group practice since 2004. The practice is authorized to provide further training in general medicine and is an academic teaching practice of the MHH.

From 2012 to August 2022, Dr. Stegemann was also employed part-time at the Institute ofGeneral Medicine and Palliative Medicine at the MHH, focusing on teaching, teaching development and further training. His special projects included the "Landpartie" and the production of educational films.

Since September 2022, Rolf Stegemann has continued to provide intensive support to our Institute in many different formats as an associated employee and teaching physician.
