Ms. Isabell Fesser has been working as a research assistant at the Institute ofGeneral Medicine and Palliative Medicine since June 2024. She supports the OrkA project"Orofaciopharyngeal and linguistic-communicative activation in old age", which is funded by the Innovation Fund of the Joint Federal Committee. Within the project, she is responsible for speech therapy and scientific tasks.
Ms. Fesser completed her training as a speech therapist at the School for Speech Therapy at the MHH in 2019. She then went on to study the interdisciplinary study programmes Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy (ELP) at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hildesheim (B.Sc.). In her bachelor's thesis, Ms. Fesser focused on unilateral CI care.
In May 2024, she completed her Master's degree in German as a Second Language / German as a Foreign Language at the University of Hildesheim (M.A.). Her master's thesis focused on the research interest of phonetics in second language acquisition. Ms. Fesser investigated the articulation of second language speakers depending on their age at the start of acquisition.
