Further education and training
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, we organize the Interdisciplinary Palliative Medicine Colloquium. The focus here is on interdisciplinary collegial exchange, case discussions and in-depth training topics. All employees interested in palliative care can take part. Participants from outside the MHH are also very welcome. We are very interested in networking with other outpatient and inpatient services!
The colloquium takes place every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 14:15-15:00 as a digital online event. PD Dr. Afshar will be happy to provide you with further information.
The topics and dates for the year 2025 can be viewed here. The colloquium is recognized as an advanced training event by the Lower Saxony Medical Association and the Registrierung beruflich Nursing GmbH. If you are interested in attending, please contact us at: Frerichs.Hannah@mh-hannover.de.
We hold regular internal team meetings and training courses to ensure the optimum quality and further development of our work. On Tuesdays from 13:15-14:00, the program alternates between topics from practice, research and teaching.
The director of the institute, Prof. Schneider, has a 12-month authorization for further training in general medicine (6 months of GP care plus 6 months of direct patient care). There is a cooperation with the Clinical Department for Hematology and Oncology of the MHH for the assistant medical staffing of the palliative care unit.
Our Institute is a founding member and cooperation partner of the Competence Center for the Promotion of Continuing Education in General Practice in Lower Saxony (KANN). Together with the other Lower Saxony chairs of general medicine in Göttingen and Oldenburg, the Lower Saxony Medical Association, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the State Hospital Association, we offer seminars and a mentoring program for physicians in further training as well as train-the-trainer seminars for trainers.
