Heat can cause considerable damage to health. Elderly people in care homes are among the groups of people who are particularly at risk.

As part of an interdisciplinary team of experts in geriatrics and general medicine, we have developed a heat guide that provides practical tips for care homes, general practitioners and relatives on how to better protect care home residents. There are also many valuable tips for senior citizens living at home.

With our practical guide and our research ideas, we want to help initiate and promote urgently needed changes with a focus on the GP perspective and practice.

The guide can be downloaded here.

You can read an article by Kristin Kahl on the heat guide in the Deutsches Ärzteblatt.
