Meier working group

Small animal imaging has established itself as an important tool in preclinical research. Nevertheless, the results of non-invasive imaging are often disappointing due to a suboptimal selection of imaging techniques or deficiencies in study design, experimental setup or data analysis.
Research is therefore focused on the areas mentioned above with a view to standardizing small animal imaging methods.

In addition, the work focuses on the special handling of animals for imaging and the economic management of the small animal imaging center.

Calibration procedures, data post-processing and special imaging applications for various models of human diseases are further focal points of the research activities. His own research interests include cardiovascular applications, monitoring of implants, lung imaging and physiological, spectroscopic applications.
