It was the first meeting of the Göttingen and Hanover psycho-oncology teams. Prof. Tanja Zimmermann from the Clinical Department of Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at MHH is positive: "It was a very nice and intensive exchange in which we were able to talk about our respective areas of work, identify similarities and also differences".
The biggest difference lies in the area of research. In future, the Hanover psycho-oncology team will involve their colleagues from Göttingen in the "OptiScreen" project. The aim of the project is to establish a best-practice model that is geared towards the needs of cancer patients and the available resources. This should contribute to the professionalization and optimization of psycho-oncological care.
Joint further training is also planned. An exchange about a possible topic, a date and a speaker will take place between Ms Zimmermann and Mr/Ms Gründel.
The next meeting is planned for the upcoming psycho-oncology symposium in Hanover in September.
