Prof. Dr. Hans Christiansen of the CCC Hannover of the MHH elected to the board of the Lower Saxony Cancer Society

The Director of the Clinical Department of Radiotherapy and Special Oncology at Hannover Medical School and member of the Board of Directors of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Niedersachsen, Prof. Dr. Hans Christiansen, has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Lower Saxony Cancer Society since 16.06.2021. The Board of Directors is elected every two years - this year a vacant position was filled.

The Board is responsible for preparing and implementing the resolutions of the General Assembly. Furthermore, the Board is responsible for the fulfillment of the statutory tasks and for the proper management of the organization. The first Chairman is Dr. med. Peter N. Meier, FASGE, FEBG, specialist in internal medicine, gastroenterology and proctology and Head Physician of the Clinical Department for Gastroenterology at DIAKOVERE Henriettenstift.

The Lower Saxony Cancer Society

The Lower Saxony Cancer Society is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 1950. Its most important tasks and objectives include prevention and education, advice and information, promotion of research and quality assurance as well as support for cancer self-help groups and cancer advice centers in Lower Saxony.
