Oncology Nursing Day inspires over 500 participants

A success for the fourth time in a row: more and more Nursing staff are using the event to exchange ideas, learn and network

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, the Oncology Nursing Day took place for the fourth time at Hannover Medical School (MHH) - one of the largest oncology nursing training events in northern Germany. Over 500 participants from all over Germany as well as from Austria, Switzerland, Poland and Azerbaijan followed the event online and on site.

"We are delighted about the growing interest and increasing participation of nurses and medical professionals from the field of oncology in this intensive day of exchange and further training," say Claudia Bredthauer and Karol Martens, Nursing Director of the MHH. "The Oncology Nursing Day has once again shown how valuable events like this are for deepening knowledge, exchanging experiences and strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation," says Dr. Susanne Isfort, Managing Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) at MHH.

Under the motto "for each other - with each other - from each other", the day offered a varied program of practical presentations, discussions and professional exchange. The main topics ranged from current developments in radiotherapy and psycho-oncological aspects to personal experience reports and ethical issues. The industry exhibition was also very popular and offered the opportunity to learn about the latest developments and products in the field of oncological care. A special highlight this year was a competition in which three lucky winners received tickets for the Aspria in Hanover. The day impressively underlined the importance of oncological Nursing and the dedicated commitment of Nursing staff.

The Oncology Nursing Day is an established training platform that focuses on current developments and challenges in oncology nursing. Organized by MHH Nursing with the CCC of the MHH, the event offers both practical and scientific impulses for Nursing and medical professionals. The aim is to further strengthen oncological Nursing and to continuously develop the profession.
