"Oncology Center of Excellence - What's in it for me as a patient?"
Online event of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Hannover of the MHH for patients, relatives and interested parties on June 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In February 2021, Hannover Medical School (MHH), together with Göttingen University Medical Center, was named a Top Oncology Center by German Cancer Aid. Together, they form the Comprehensive Cancer Center Lower Saxony and are committed to a common goal: to provide even better care for patients according to the latest scientific findings and to advance innovative cancer research.
The Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Hannover (Claudia von Schilling Center) is organizing an online event for patients, relatives and interested parties on 28 June 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. under the motto: "Oncological Center of Excellence - What's in it for me as a patient?". Experts from the MHH will report on the main topics of research, therapy and aftercare. The focus will be on the tasks and possibilities of the Center of Excellence:
How can patients take part in studies with new drugs and how do they find out about study activities at the CCC? What advantages does the aftercare pass in Lower Saxony offer from a GP's point of view? Hereditary cancers - are they more common than expected? How do patients find psycho-oncological services in Lower Saxony? There will also be reports on the role of the Oncology Center in the Centre of Excellence and on treatment options for tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, bone and soft tissue tumors and rare mutations in lung cancer. A chat function will provide the opportunity to ask questions during the online event.
Registration and participation
The event is free of charge and will take place via Microsoft Teams live event. Participation is possible via PC, tablet or smartphone. Please register by e-mail to Onkologisches.Zentrum@mh-hannover.de with the subject "Oncology Center of Excellence".
