"Our Clinical Department offers the entire spectrum of pancreatic surgery at the highest level. We are part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Lower Saxony (CCC-N), which is funded by German Cancer Aid as an Oncological Center of Excellence. This allows us to provide state-of-the-art treatment of malignant pancreatic tumors and their metastases in interdisciplinary tumor boards. The 2023 annual report of the German Cancer Society (DKG ) confirms the special expertise of Hannover Medical School (MHH) in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Our Clinical Department has been making a significant contribution to progress in this area for many years through the further development of surgical techniques. Our special expertise in robot-assisted surgery makes us one of the few centers in Germany to perform even complex pancreatic head resections (Whipple) using the Da Vinci Xi surgical robot. Together with individually tailored surgical preparation and aftercare, this enables us to offer such major operations gently and safely.

Our Clinical Department is a study center of the METAPANC study (randomized controlled phase 3 trial; AIO-PAK-0219). This trial is investigating the value of surgery for limited metastasis of pancreatic cancer. We will evaluate for you whether inclusion in the trial appears to make sense.
