The human head is a very special part of our organism, as it houses the brain, our senses - namely sight, hearing, smell and taste - and our respiratory system, as well as our food intake, in a very small space. From a medical point of view, it therefore makes sense to work on an interdisciplinary basis for the best possible treatment success. It is precisely for this reason that the medical disciplines working in the head area at the MHH have joined forces to form an interdisciplinary head center and pursue common goals in research, teaching and patient care. The independence of the respective departments is maintained, as the Head Center is run as a virtual center at the Medical School.
