Thyroid outpatient clinic
Patients with benign and malignant thyroid diseases are treated here.
The focus is on
- on the direct pre- and direct post-inpatient care of patients with indications for radioiodine therapy, as well as
- the long-term care of patients with differentiated thyroid carcinomas as part of a special outpatient clinic
In addition to the outpatient clinic of the clinic director for private patients this department also provides an in-house thyroid consultation service.

In order to provide the best possible care for all types of thyroid disease, the thyroid outpatient clinic works closely with
- the Clinical Department of Visceral Surgery (focus on endocrine surgery) for thyroid operations and complex tumor and metastasis surgery,
- the Institute of Pathology (cytopathology) for the assessment of fine needle punctures,
- the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology (endocrinology outpatient clinic) for the care of medullary thyroid carcinomas and complex endocrinology cases,
- Clinical Department of Radiotherapy and Special Oncology for external radiotherapy of complex thyroid malignancies, and
- the Clinical Department of Haematology, Haemostaseology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation for the care and systemic therapy of complex, non-iodine-storing thyroid malignancies.
The department is equipped with
- three high-frequency ultrasound machines from GE and Siemens
- one small-field gamma camera of the type MIE Orbiter
- a radioiodine test probe
- our own in vitro laboratory
