The social service of the Clinical Department of Psychiatry, Social- and Psychological Therapy at Hannover Medical School is embedded in the respective conceptual treatment process of the individual psychiatric wards, the day clinic and the Psychiatric Institute Outpatient Clinic.

Patients may require intensive social work assistance and support, as the impairments and deficits resulting from a mental illness may mean that patients are no longer sufficiently able to develop and implement targeted action and life plans.
