Support our research with your donation!
Dear patients,
One of our tasks at the MHH is research. Our aim is to gain a better understanding of diseases and to further improve surgical therapeutic approaches. In this way, current research sets the course for the medicine of the future.
Part of our research is financed from internal hospital funds and foundation grants. We also rely on public funding (DFG, BMBF) to carry out innovative clinical studies and to expand basic research in the surgical research laboratory. Unfortunately, in many cases these funds are not sufficient to adequately investigate the multitude of scientific questions.
Every donation helps us to further advance our research projects and medical progress! We would therefore be delighted to have you as a sponsor of surgical research. Your financial contribution will enable us to purchase research materials and new equipment. Training courses or information events for patients can also be financed with these funds. Of course, you can also specify the specific purpose for which you would like to give us your support. Please contact us!
Yours sincerely,
Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Moritz Schmelzle
Our Clinical Department - our research
The Clinical Department of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery at the MHH specializes in diseases of internal organs with a particular focus on complex surgery of tumours and their metastases. As the largest Transplant Centre in Germany, we also offer special expertise in organ transplantation, including living donation. Several pioneering treatment methods have been developed at our Clinical Department. We are committed to this tradition and want to continue to play an active role in shaping progress. The research spectrum of our employees covers all three stages of medical research, i.e. basic research, translational research and clinical research. Our main focus is on the fields of transplantation and oncology. The primary goal in both areas is the consistent further development and optimization of current surgical and therapeutic strategies for our patients.
