Dear Colleagues,
Under the motto "Prevent the first event", modern lipid therapy is increasingly becoming the focus of early and consistent prevention of cardiovascular events. Current guidelines recommend rapid and intensive lipid lowering in both primary and secondary prevention in order to effectively prevent first and recurrent events. Prof. Schäfer will bring you up to date on the latest evidence-based strategies.
In addition to drug options, therapeutic lifestyle changes remain a central component of the treatment of chronic metabolic diseases such as obesity, hyperlipoproteinemia and diabetes mellitus. Dr. Nöhre from the Department of Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the MHH will explain why their implementation in everyday life often fails and how they can be made more successful.
Another focus will be on severe hypertriglyceridemia as a significant cause of acute pancreatitis. From genetic backgrounds to environmental factors, the interdisciplinary contribution "Gastroenterology meets lipidology" will shed light on the necessary diagnostics and therapy to prevent serious complications.
We hope to arouse your interest with this program, wish you an informative event and look forward to your participation.
Open to physicians, medical staff, students, researchers, scientists and nursing staff.
