Homeopathy: Between Hope, Expectation, and the Placebo Effect
on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
Lecture Hall G, Level H0, Building J1 at MHH

Homeopathy is an alternative medical concept developed at the end of the 18th century. It is based on two principles: “like cures like” and high dilution (“potentization”), in which the remedy often no longer contains any active ingredient. The choice of remedy is based on symptoms, not on diagnosis. Despite a lack of evidence of efficacy beyond the placebo effect, it remains popular: many people are open to it and consider it effective. Why—and what can medicine learn from this? Professor Ingo Just, former director of the Institute of Toxicology, addresses this question in his lecture.

The event is free for members and interested parties. Registration is not required. The event will be recorded and made available as a video recording at www.mhh.de/alumni.

Open to the public.
