Information for applicants
On the following pages you will find further information on patient care, research and teaching, as well as training and further education at the Clinical Department.
The supra-regional importance of the Medical School places special demands on the Clinical Department's staff. A highly qualified team of physicians and nurses guarantees quality at the highest level with over 35,000 anaesthesiological services and around 2,000 patients receiving intensive medical care each year, and ensures that therapy is individualized and adapted to the needs of the patient and is constantly kept up to date through intensive exchange with research.
In order to be able to offer this high standard, the Clinical Department offers comprehensive interprofessional training and further education for physicians and nursing staff. In addition to clinical qualifications in anaesthesia, interdisciplinary intensive care medicine, Emergency Medicine and pain therapy, there are special programs for researchers and teaching staff to facilitate an academic career. In close cooperation with the Training Academy for Nursing, the Clinical Department is involved in the training and further education of healthcare and nursing staff and anaesthesia technician assistants. In addition to specialist further training in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine, both professional groups are offered a wide range of opportunities for further qualification in all clinical areas. A central concern is the joint and coordinated training of all professional groups in the Clinical Department on an equal footing, in which they learn, teach and work as a team.
Our department currently employs over 180 medical and research associates, 170 nursing staff and 20 administrative and medical-technical staff.
I look forward to receiving your application.
Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. med. Wolfgang Koppert, M.A.
