Anesthesia module
In addition to 25 lectures on anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, you can expect 12 hours of seminars. The anesthesiology seminar will focus on anesthesia preparation, the intensive care medicine seminar will teach you the basics and essential intensive care medicine problem constellations and the pain seminars will cover the basics of pain diagnostics and many case studies.
As a special highlight, HAINS, our forgiving intensive care simulator, awaits you. Here you have the opportunity to try out anesthesia induction and anesthesia management in a protected environment. Medical aspects as well as aspects of Communications, teamwork and patient safety play a role in this small simulation training course. No special professional preparation is necessary. To facilitate access to the topic of simulation and incident management, we recommend the online lecture "Methods of incident management" (approx. 30 minutes). This is available for you on Ilias in the module documents MSE 403 under this link (ILIAS).
The current lecture slides are available in ILIAS for exam preparation. In addition, we recommend the following accompanying literature (available in the library or as an eBook):
- Pocket Atlas of Anesthesia, Thieme, 2017
- Anesthesia - Intensive Care Medicine - Emergency Medicine: For study and training - Schattauer - 2016
- Clinical manual for anesthesia, Springer, 2016
- The ICU book: Practical intensive care medicine, Elsevier, 2017
- Morgan and Mikhail`s Clinical Anesthesiology, McGraw-Hill, 2018
Please take the opportunity to re-registration and evaluate the individual lectures, seminars and the entire module. Your feedback is important to us so that we can continue to adapt and improve our course.
