Teaching
Similar to science, teaching and the development of teaching concepts and curricula is an interactive, dynamic process. In the Clinical Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, teaching has always been of outstanding importance. This is demonstrated not only by the continuous good evaluations from students, but also by various awards and teaching prizes.
We believe that training and further education is not a chore but an integral part of our everyday professional life. The teaching concepts of the two modules are determined above all by innovations and modern didactic methods. For example, the Clinical Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine participates in the Germany-wide simulation project of the German Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI) to improve teaching. For over 15 years, the Clinical Department has been offering simulation teaching and incident management in the anesthesia module and as an elective course using HAINS (Hannöverscher Anästhesie-, Intensiv- und Notfallsimulator). Patient safety is a focal point of these lessons.
A number of measures have also been taken to continuously improve teaching and adapt it to the changes in the HannibaL model degree program and to the wishes and expectations of students. To this end, we introduced competence-based curricula as the first modules at the MHH in 2013. Structural, curricular and didactic projects and improvements are being implemented on an ongoing basis.
