Dentistry assistants assist with surgical, prosthetic, conservative and orthodontic treatments in the Departments of the Center for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine. Dentistry assistants have been trained at the MHH Dental Clinic since 1977. The training lasts three years. During training, the above-mentioned activities are carried out under the supervision of an experienced assistant and a licensed dentist. Trainees also learn how to take x-rays and bill for dentistry services.

The dual training (vocational school and company) lasts 3 years. After completing the apprenticeship, there are opportunities for further training, which allow the occupation to be tailored to suit individual interests.
Yes, there are single rooms in shared corridors/flats. The rooms are approx. 12 m² in size, fully furnished and have a washbasin. The bathroom and kitchen are shared.
The amount of the training allowance is regulated by collective agreement. It is based on the collective agreement for training in the training occupations under the Vocational Training Act(TVA-L BBiG) and is staggered:
From December 1, 2022, trainees will receive the following monthly training allowance:
1,086.82 euros in the first year of training
1,140.96 euros in the second year of training
1,190.61 euros in the third year of training
After successfully passing the final examination "at the first attempt", a special payment of €400.00 is made in accordance with the collective agreement.
