Industrial mechanic specialising in precision engineering

The trainees learn all the necessary technical and theoretical skills for their profession. In addition to filing, sawing, gluing and welding, this includes understanding and implementing technical drawings and machining materials using milling, turning and drilling machines.

The trainees machine various metals and plastics and create programs for computer-controlled CNC machine tools. The apprentices also learn the basics of pneumatics and electro-pneumatics.

The components, most of which are manufactured by the trainees themselves, are assembled by the trainees according to work plans and technical drawings into small and extremely precisely functioning devices, put into operation and checked for proper functioning.

The apprenticeship lasts three and a half years and ends with passing the examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. There are six training places in the Central Research Workshops of the MHH.
