The IT specialist for system integration is responsible for providing and supporting the central IT infrastructure and end devices (PCs, printers, etc.).
The IT infrastructure consists of servers and data storage systems, which are operated in clusters and virtual environments, databases and networks.
In principle, the IT systems electronics technician has the same areas of responsibility. They are only marginally involved with databases. Instead, they look after the part of the building technology in the data center that is necessary for the operation of the infrastructure (energy supply, air conditioning) and also take care of telephony.
Both areas of training also include the installation and removal of technical equipment and the laying of data cables.
During the first two-thirds of their training, trainees pass through several departments of MHH Information Technology. After that, a gradual specialization begins.
Both professions are suitable for people who enjoy working with technology, have good powers of abstraction and are willing to keep learning. Teamwork and independence are also important qualities.
Since 1998, 14 IT specialists and IT systems electronics technicians, including 3 women, have been trained. MHH Information Technology (MIT) tries to offer one place per year.
The trainers decide whether to train IT specialists for system integration or IT system electronics technicians based on the suitability of the application.
