This is helpful for us when we want to support important projects at the MHH that need to be implemented faster than we can launch an appeal for donations. It is becoming increasingly common for relatives to forego laying wreaths in bereavement and instead call for so-called condolence donations or wreath donations. This is about sustainability, but often also about the wish to support a commitment that was important to the deceased during his or her lifetime and to set an example with this action. If you would also like to make a condolence donation to the Society of Friends of the MHH, we have compiled some helpful information for you here:

It is helpful for us if we know before the obituary is published. Simply send us an e-mail or give us a call. - Possible wording of an appeal for donations in favor of the Society of Friends of the MHH in an obituary
It is important that the name of the association, the bank details and the name of the deceased are included in the obituary. One possible wording could be:
In lieu of wreaths and flowers, please make a donation to the Gesellschaft der Freunde der Medizinischen Hochschule Hannover e.V., IBAN DE12 2504 0066 0312 0003 01, BIC COBADEFFXXX, Commerzbank Hannover, under the keyword "First name and surname of the deceased".
If you have specified a specific purpose for the condolence donations and would also like this to be stated in the obituary, the following addition is suitable: "... we ask for a donation in favor of cancer research at Hannover Medical School (MHH) to the Gesellschaft der Freunde der MHH e.V., IBAN..." - Six weeks after publication of the obituary, we will inform you about the donations received.
Approximately six weeks after publication of the obituary, we will send a list of the donors with the total amount to the contact person named at the beginning, either by e-mail or by post, as requested. For data protection reasons, we are not allowed to pass on the individual amounts. - Donors whose address we have will receive a donation receipt.
We can only issue a donation receipt if we have a complete postal address. As this is not usually the case for condolence donors, they do not automatically receive a donation receipt. However, you are welcome to add the addresses to the list of donors and return the completed list to us so that we can issue and send the donation receipts accordingly.
Would you like to wish yourself good health on your special day? Do you have everything you need, but would like to make a personal contribution to medical progress? Then why not ask your guests to make a donation to the MHH Society of Friends on the occasion of your celebration and support a piece of health. There are many happy occasions for this:

As joy shared is joy doubled, patients, students and employees will be happy with you in this way. Because your commitment helps the MHH to constantly break new ground in research, teaching and patient care - and gives countless people the chance of better health. And it's as simple as this...
Your guests transfer their donation directly to our donation account at your party. We will send you prepared payment slips with your personal, self-chosen keyword. You inform your guests about the planned donation campaign in the invitation and can enclose the prepared payment slips. About a month after your party, you will receive a list of donors with the total donation amount. If you or the donors themselves provide us with the addresses, we will issue donation receipts.
Or: Your guests donate at your party and you transfer the amount to our donation account. In this case, too, it makes sense to mention your fundraising campaign in the invitation. You place a donation box or a carton for your guests' donations at your party. You transfer the total amount, stating your personal keyword of choice. If you list the names, addresses and individual amounts, we will be happy to send donation receipts to your donors.
