The Deutschlandstipendium: a model for success

Recognizing the outstanding achievements of dedicated students and jointly contributing to the promotion of tomorrow's specialists is the basic idea behind the so-called Deutschlandstipendium. Ten years have passed since the German government introduced this scholarship program. Hannover Medical School has been participating in this unique initiative with great success for just as long. What is special about this scholarship program? The state doubles your donation. The scholarship is worth 300 euros per month. 150 euros are financed by donations, the other half is covered by the federal government.

Why promote the next generation of MHH scientists?

The MHH recognized early on that theory alone is not enough for a good medical education and launched the HannibaL model course. Unlike at other German universities, students in Hanover have contact with patients from day one and thus learn in a particularly practical way. However, those applying for a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship bring more to the table than "just" outstanding academic achievements, as social and community commitment are also taken into account. This is why there are many remarkable people who are involved in voluntary work, start a family during their studies or look after relatives in need of care.
