The staff of the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology at Hannover Medical School mourn the loss of Prof. Dr. med. Ingolf Schedel, who passed away at the age of 76.
Professor Schedel worked in our Clinical Department for more than 13 years as a senior physician and researcher specializing in infectiology and HIV. With his always positive and open manner, he made a lasting impression on many MHH employees, especially on the infection ward. Professor Schedel stood for outstanding patient care of the highest quality and exemplified it himself in an exemplary manner. He was a life-affirming person to the end, who acted straightforwardly and authentically. His style was unmistakable. In Professor Schedel, we have lost a valued colleague and a committed teacher. We will remember Professor Ingolf Schedel with gratitude and honor.
