Information for your test order
Your laboratory budget will not be affected by molecular genetic diagnostics!
The human genetics section in Chapter 11 of the standardized evaluation scale (EBM) was fundamentally revised in 2016. Human genetic services are now divided into constitutional genetic examinations (Chapter 11) and tumor genetic examinations (Chapter 19) in the EBM. Due to the removal of the efficiency bonus for code number 32010, molecular genetic diagnostics (EBM chapter 11) will not be charged to the referring physician's laboratory budget. All molecular genetic tests carried out by us using a laboratory referral form (sample 10) are billed via chapter 11 and are therefore subject to this regulation. The code number 32010 is no longer to be indicated with this regulation. The efficiency bonus is also reimbursed for these treatment cases. Please contact us if you have any questions!
Depending on the desired tests, different materials and different anticoagulants are required.
The following generally applies to anticoagulants
- Cytogenetic examination: heparin material
- Molecular genetic testing: EDTA material
Materials
- 10-15 ml bone marrow aspirate (heparin / EDTA)
- 10-15 ml peripheral blood (heparin / EDTA)
- Lymph node tissue (in 0.9% NaCl solution)
- Other tumor tissue (in 0.9% NaCL solution)
- Cerebrospinal fluid punctate (native)
- Pleural punctate (native)
- Ascites punctate (native)
Collection instructions
We require different anticoagulants and materials depending on the desired examinations:
- For a cytogenetic examination: heparinized bone marrow aspirate and heparinized peripheral blood
- For a molecular genetic test: EDTA bone marrow aspirate or EDTA blood
If you are not using monovettes and Vacutainers that already contain the anticoagulants, please add heparin (500 I.U./ml) or EDTA. Swirling the containers slightly improves the anticoagulant effect.
Please label the collection containers clearly.
The samples should be shipped at room temperature. Delivery should take place within 24-48 hours.
After consultation, we can provide your practice with shipping and acceptance material for cytogenetic and molecular genetic diagnostics in our Institute. If you are interested, please contact us from Monday to Friday from 08:00-15:00:
