Neurovascular Clinic

Director: Prof. Dr. med. Ahmed Othman, Senior Physician Dr. med. Omar Abu-Fares

During the neurovascular consultation, we advise you on conditions affecting the blood vessels of the brain, spinal cord, head, and neck. These are often incidental findings, such as those detected on an MRI performed to investigate headaches. We discuss the findings with you and determine whether treatment is necessary and which procedure is appropriate. Diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care are provided at our Institute.

We provide consultation for conditions including:

  • Cerebral artery aneurysms, including incidental findings
  • Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and dural arteriovenous fistulas
  • vascular malformations and highly vascular tumors in the head and neck region
  • Narrowing of the carotid artery or cerebral arteries
  • Recurrent chronic subdural hematomas
  • Narrowing of the cerebral veins, for example, in cases of increased intracranial pressure
  • a pulsating ringing in the ears (pulsatile tinnitus)

We offer a second opinion prior to any planned treatment. Following treatment at our Institute, follow-up care is also provided during these consultation hours.

Patients can schedule an appointment directly with us, as can their treating physicians. Please send any available images and test results in advance or bring them with you to your appointment. After the consultation, you and your treating physician’s office will receive a written report with our recommendation.
