Endowed Chair of Prevention and Rehabilitation in Systems and Health Services Research (2004 - 2010)
Head: Prof. Dr. Ulla Walter
The endowed chair "Prevention and Rehabilitation in Systems and Health Care Research" was established in July 2004 to strengthen prevention and rehabilitation in Germany. It was initially funded for five years until the end of June 2009 and was extended by one year following a positive interim evaluation.
It was supported by three healthcare Facilities or Institutions - Allgemeine Hospitalgesellschaft (AHG), Düsseldorf, Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund, Berlin, Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), Hamburg - and accompanied by a Scientific Advisory Board. This is the first time that different service and cost bearers and service providers have not only jointly promoted prevention and rehabilitation, but also supported both specialist areas at the same time.
Thefocus of the endowed chair was on research and qualification (teaching) as well as regional and nationwide structural development and strengthening the relevance of prevention and rehabilitation in the public eye.
