The Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hospital Hygiene at the MHH is also involved in this Bachelor's study programme, which is run jointly by three universities in Hannover (Veterinary School Foundation, Hannover Medical School and University - ZEB). Lectures, internships and Bachelor's theses are offered.
The lectures (Topic: Special Microbiology and Pathogenesis Research on Human Pathogenic Bacteria - Overview and Examples) are part of the Microbiology lecture series in the Microbiology II module of the Bachelor's degree program in Biology, which is jointly organized by Leibniz University, the University of Veterinary Medicine Foundation and the Medical School. The lecture series for this module takes place regularly in the summer semester on Tuesday mornings in the lecture hall of Microbiology, University of Veterinary Medicine Foundation. As part of the above-mentioned Bachelor's module Microbiology II, a one-week block practical course with a series of seminars
"Medical Microbiology and Pathogenesis Research"
is organized. The allocation of internship places is carried out centrally in coordination with Leibniz University and the University of Veterinary Medicine Foundation (coordination and information on the module: ZEB, Dr . Elvira Jürgens).

For students from the 5th semester of the Bachelor's degree course. By arrangement only. Duration: approx. 2 to 6 weeks possible, full-time, mostly individual supervision. The internship takes place in the respective working groups of the Institute, but only by individual arrangement. It is recommended to contact the respective working group leaders personally to discuss the time and content of the internship; a lead time of approx. 3 months before the start of the internship is recommended (coordination: Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Guntram Graßl).
Only possible by arrangement. Bachelor students after completion of the respective curriculum, normally from the 6th semester. It is recommended to contact the respective working group leaders personally to discuss the possibilities, timing (approx. 3 to 6 months in advance) and content of the Bachelor's thesis; a laboratory internship of several weeks in one of the Institute's working groups during the Bachelor's degree course is normally required (coordination: Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Guntram Graßl).
