Sample and data requests can
- be submitted to the MHH's own internal collection via the MHH's internal ticket system (only available to MHH employees).
- be submitted directly by external researchers to the Medical School Clinical Data Warehouse (CDWH), the Research Data Portal for Health (FDPG) or the Hannover Unified Biobank (HUB)
- to the European registered biobanks in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory
To search for samples in collections other than your own in the Hannover Unified Biobank (HUB), you can use the BBMRI-ERIC Directory.
To search for samples in collections not belonging to you in the Hannover Unified Biobank (HUB), you can use the BBMRI-ERIC Directory

Submit a feasibility request
Researchers use feasibility requests to test the feasibility of a research question in relation to the available data volume. Specific inclusion and exclusion criteria are used to check how many cases are available for search criteria in the data integration centres of the MII locations nationwide and can be requested for medical research purposes. The feasibility requests are answered by the sites in real time. The data that can be requested covers a wide range of variables, regardless of the indication. It is based on the structure of the MII core data set (KDS) and includes six basic modules (person, case, diagnosis, medication, procedure and laboratory) and several extension modules such as ‘oncology’ or ‘biological samples’. The availability of the individual modules may vary from site to site.
More information can be found at data and bio samples.
FDPG – Research Data Portal for Health
Sample and data requests can be submitted to the biobanks registered in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory.
The HUB collections with broad consent are also visible there.
BBMRI-ERIC is a pan-European infrastructure of national biobank networks.
The abbreviation BBMRI-ERIC stands for ‘Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium’.
The German Biobank Node (GBN) represents the interests of German biobanks within this consortium.
