Lecture
Orthopaedic biomechanics and implant technology - Part I
The Laboratory for Biomechanics and Biomaterials and the Orthopaedic Clinical Department of the Medical School are offering the lecture series for engineers and physicians in the winter semester 2025/2026.
The lecture and exercises "ORTHOPAEDIC BIOMECHANICS AND IMPLANT TECHNOLOGY - Part I" will be held by lecturers from the Laboratory for Biomechanics and Biomaterials and the Orthopaedic Clinic at Hannover Medical School.
Currently, the lecture will again take place in presence in the lecture halls of the MHH. The lecture series starts on 27.10.2025 (room plan and dates at LUH-STUD.IP).

Lecture
Adult stem cells
The lecture for biologists, biochemists and life scientists provides basic knowledge of the cell biological and molecular characteristics of stem cells. Not only important properties of adult, but also of embryonic, induced pluripotent and tumor stem cells are explained. Fundamentals of biology as a whole are also included: e.g. epigenetics, signal transduction, reprogramming and mechanisms of cell differentiation. Important practical applications such as the development of cell and tissue transplants ("tissue engineering") and other possible applications in the field of regenerative medicine are demonstrated using selected organ systems (not just the musculoskeletal system) as examples.
The lecture takes place in the winter and summer semester according to the announcement by the respective study coordinators at the MHH. Winter semester: Thursdays 5.15 pm, MHH lecture hall E, summer semester Fridays 10.15 am, LUH Blue Grotto (90 min each)
