Apply now for an education as a specialist for media and information services - specialising in libraries!

As a FaMI, you will become a professional in information procurement, processing and dissemination. During your training, you will learn how to make sense of the world of knowledge. From acquisition and indexing to cataloguing media in national databases. You will acquire the skills to conduct targeted searches for scientific literature in large databases and electronic journals. You will become a guide in the information jungle - both for students and researchers. You will advise them and help them access digital resources such as e-books and e-journals.

Your training is dual: you alternate between practical work on site and accompanying lessons at the vocational school. The vocational school takes place as block lessons at the Multi Media Berufsbildende Schulen (MMBBS) in Hanover with other FaMI trainees from all over Lower Saxony.

The special thing about our training programme: The training takes place in cooperation with the Hanover Libraries for Music, Theatre and Media (HMTMH). This means you will get to know three libraries during your training and automatically build up a network in the library community.
