As part of the Master's degree program in Biomedical Data Science, a compulsory elective module of at least 3 weeks (5 CP) and a compulsory elective module of at least 6 weeks (10 CP) must be completed in one of the subject areas listed below. These internships can be completed at the MHH or externally.

The internships offer you the opportunity to apply your acquired theoretical and practical skills in the form of a concrete question and thus deepen your methodological foundations as well as your self-organization.

One of the two compulsory elective modules should be carried out in a working group involved in the study programmes.

WP module "Applied Data Analysis I" (3 weeks)

The module "Applied Data Analysis I" can be carried out in one of the following areas:

  • Medical microbiology
  • Gene expression
  • Omics technologies
  • Imaging techniques
  • Electron Microscopy

WP module "Applied Data Analysis II" (6 weeks)

Within this internship, an individually supervised six-week research project is usually carried out.

The module "Applied Data Analysis I" can be carried out in one of the following areas:

  • Oncology
  • Infection biology
  • virology
  • immunology
  • radiology
  • Clinical studies
  • Cardiology
  • Epidemiology

Further information on the compulsory elective modules can be found in the module handbook and in the study and examination regulations.
