Qualification objectives

The introductory module provides a comprehensive overview of data science. The module uses specific examples to illustrate the different areas of application.
Students will be able to describe the principles of a typical data science process. They can name different areas of application and illustrate them using an example. They know the basic methods and tools of different disciplines.

Competencies

After successfully completing the module, students will be able to independently apply the typical data science process to real data and assess the quality of data. They will be able to formulate scientific questions based on the available data. They have the methodological and practical skills to analyze various data exploratively, generate and validate data models. They are able to critically scrutinize and clearly present the knowledge gained.
