Learning workshop for students in their 1st semester

The learning workshop is an optional offer of the Office of Academic Affairs for students of medicine and is conducted by Ms. Dipl.-Psych. Ute Zaepernick-Rothe. Ms. Zaepernick-Rothe has many years of experience in advising and training students, particularly on the topics of learning and time management, exam preparation and dealing with exam stress. She is extremely popular with the students she has accompanied over the years due to her practical orientation and her refreshing manner.

Ms. Zaepernick-Rothe herself describes the learning workshop as follows: Learning is a creative process! In contrast to school, learning in medical studies means above all learning facts, gaining experience, applying what has been learned and retaining everything in the long term. Multimodal learning strategies are required to be successful here. The timing in medical studies - between lecture and examination phases - requires the learning process to be well structured, learning opportunities to be identified and these to be optimized (time management). The examination formats in medical studies range from written exams in multiple-choice format to practical oral examinations. Being well prepared here means preventing exam anxiety.
