Lecture by PD Dr. Stefanie Sperlich
Lecture as part of the public lecture series at the Jade University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg
On 13 March 2020 from 17:00-18:30, PD Dr. Sperlich will give a lecture as part of the public lecture series at the Jade University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg on the topic: "The development of morbidity against the background of educational expansion - on the way to a health society?"
In view of the ageing population and the associated increase in chronic degenerative diseases, the need for healthcare is predicted to increase. On the other hand, the continuing expansion of education means that more and more people are acquiring higher educational qualifications, which are demonstrably linked to positive health effects. Against this background, the lecture uses representative data to examine the question of whether educational expansion has contributed to an increase in health over the last 10 to 20 years. Based on the findings, possible future scenarios for the development of morbidity and consequences for health care will be discussed.
