Prof. Dr. med. Richard Taubert - Curriculum Vitae

Prof. Dr. Dr. Taubert studied medicine in Heidelberg and at Baylor College in Houston/Texas. He completed his doctoral thesis in the Department of Developmental Immunology at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg and graduated from the University of Heidelberg in 2008. Prof. Dr. Taubert completed his specialist training at the MHH in 2008 and has been a specialist in internal medicine since 2017, a specialist in gastroenterology since 2020 and a transplant physician since 2024. He has been a senior physician at the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endocrinology since 2019 and was the managing senior physician of the MHH's interdisciplinary abdominal organ transplant outpatient clinic in 2019/2020. His scientific focus is on immune-mediated liver diseases before and after liver transplantation and he received his habilitation in internal medicine from the MHH on this topic in 2019. He was appointed "Associate Professor" in 2024.
