Midwifery is one of the oldest professions in the world. Giving birth is very deeply rooted in everyday life in all cultures. Then as now, midwives are responsible for the care of women during a normal pregnancy, a birth and in the puerperium.

The European Master's Programme in Midwifery and research projects are based in the Midwifery Research and Education Unit. Additionally, the bachelor's degree programme in midwifery started in 2021.

A7 from Kassel - to motorway junction Hannover-Süd,
A7 from Hamburg - to motorway junction Hannover-Kirchhorst
A2 from Dortmund or Berlin - to motorway junction Hannover-Buchholz,
continue on the A37 (Messeschnellweg) to Hannover - as far as the Weidetorkreisel, turn into Karl-Wiechert-Allee, a few minutes later turn right into the MHH.
