Kidney transplant conference on May 13, 2025

Hannover Medical School - 17:00 - Online

Organization: Clinical Department of Nephrology and Hypertension, Hannover Medical School

Dear colleagues,

We would like to welcome you to our Kidney Transplant Conference in May 2025.

After the presentation and discussion of our transplantation figures, we would like to dedicate this kidney transplantation conference to the next new biomarker after transplantation, the Torque Teno virus.

As you know, we would like to see optimal immunosuppression in our patients, as much as necessary and as little as possible. This would be done in the hope of minimizing the risk of infection and at the same time protecting the transplant.

Such personalized immunosuppression is certainly not possible via trough level control. The Torque Teno virus or the Torque Teno viral load has emerged as an interesting new biomarker that may make individualized immunosuppression possible.

We are pleased to welcome PD Dr. Veronica di Cristanziano from the University Hospital of Cologne as an expert in this field. She is a scientist, senior physician and section head of serological diagnostics at the Institute of Virology there.
