Dear ladies, dear gentlemen,
Dear colleagues,
Peritoneal dialysis thrives on proximity to the patient, but also on personal exchange within the peritoneal dialysis team. We would like to welcome you to the 20th Peritoneal Dialysis Workshop in Hanover, where we once again want to focus on the exchange with you.
We have again selected clinically relevant topics.
In the first lecture, Dr. Hiß will discuss the special features of kidney transplantation in peritoneal dialysis patients. Dr. Wilts-Barbey will then provide practical answers on when and how cycler therapies can enable long-term peritoneal dialysis while maintaining a high quality of life. We are delighted that Dr. Kitsche from Cologne will be giving a comprehensive overview of the financial and social aspects of peritoneal dialysis. Dr. Richter, an expert in the surgical care of peritoneal dialysis patients at the MHH, will discuss the special features of surgical interventions in peritoneal dialysis, including those that do not primarily involve the PD catheter.
What needs to be considered in peritoneal dialysis from a psychosomatic point of view? Dr. Nöhre will report on this topic from her many years of experience. Dr. Eden from Braunschweig will then present common errors and mistakes in peritoneal dialysis that you should be aware of and avoid at all costs.
Finally, Prof. Schmidt-Ott will again present the most important current work on peritoneal dialysis in the Journal Club. During the event, you can test your PD knowledge by means of a TED vote and actively participate in the exciting presentations.
